A recent script I’ve been working on requires input in some sort of date format. This script will be executed by persons around the globe. Being a silly American, I simply used the format I am used to MM/DD/YYYY. But being the good little programmer I am, I did some research as to what the rest of the world used for formats. I was not really shocked to see that North America is the only place my format is supported.
It bothers me on a certain level though. Why on earth does America have to stick out like such a sore thumb. Why can’t we use the metric system? Its so much cleaner. Why can’t we use the same date format as the rest of the world? Are we seriously meant to stick out so bad?
Just kinda thought it was ridiculously simple issue that should have been solved years ago.
